Crying Lightning - Arctic Monkeys

i watched the video to crying lightning by the arctic monkeys, and i liked the idea of the band floating on the sea in a tiny wooden boat, it gives a very strong image of isolation and fits the song very well, with the eery feeling about it which fits the tone of the guitars.

We'll Live and Die in these Towns

As you can see the cover is composed of a train time table sign, with the album title, this is related by the colours (white and yellow) which are the same as in a train station, the title is also where locations and names of places would be located, further linking to it.

Song Ideas ... again

After speaking to some friends and asking around I have narrowed down my choices to just two songs:
Away from here - The Enemy
Your Diguise - The Edition
Now I have to choose which to pick, Away from here is quite up-beat and a happy tune. The song is about escaping from the mundane and standard life that people lead, of going to work thier entire life, personaly i think perfectly fits the dream that every band has of breaking away from the grey life and doing what you love to earn a living.
Where as the song Your Disguise is a much darker, faster paced song, and it is about people putting on a front and pretending to be what they are not. I can think of a few good shots and effects to use, but it would have to be mainly composed of clips of the band, because I don't have many ideas for it yet. Hmmm what to choose...

I'm sticking with an indie theme, because whatever song I choose I plan to use footage of my band (which is an indie band). I can then use footage from our gigs and random moments that we have caught on film. Obviously I am leaning towards using one of our songs, because then i can use actualy footage of the song which will fit perfectly, where as using footage of us to another song may be hard to edit in crrectly or not fit at all.

Brianstorm - Arctic Monkeys

With the song being very fast paced, naturaly the video matches. The video is composed of futs between the band play, and imagery related to the song. most of these related clips are in black and white, giving a strange, erey feel to the whole video. mixed inbetween the clips of the band and imagery there is clips of women dancing infront of strobe lights and neon, the dance is very fast paced, matching the song and giving a frantic effect.

Hey,
my name is Adrian Williams, and i'm doing an As course in media studies and i go to Biddulph High School Sixth Form.
I'm going to be doing a music video, cover and poster for my coursework, due to me being i a band, i'll probibaly base these on one of our songs, but i have no idea which yet, and this is just an inital idea so it may change.
At the moment I'm going to research some videos and bands that I'm interested in, until i find more direction.
